The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) is a 9–12 month advanced level programme established to serve as an alternative admission route into Nigerian universities. It is moderated by Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and has been in existence for decades.
IJMB is officially recognised by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC) and uses a curriculum approved by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
On successful completion of the programme, candidates obtain an IJMB certificate which is widely accepted by many federal, state, and private universities in Nigeria for direct admission into 200 level, without the need to sit for UTME.
